TRMC News Makers: Youth Service Award Winner and Robotics Champs

Three Rivers students are making positive headlines in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic for their service to the community and excellence in robotics.
Jack Mello, Norwich Youth Service Award
TRMC senior Jack Mello is the type of student who inspires others both inside and outside of the classroom. He is set to graduate with more than 30 college credits already earned and a focus on a career in accounting. He's also president of TRMC's branch of the National Honor Society, an Eagle Scout, and a trombone player in the Noank-Mystic Community Band. On Friday, May 1, Jack won the Norwich Youth Service Award. Congratulations, Jack!
Robotics Rock Stars
Three Rivers Middle College students Molly Starr and Josh Oswald were all set for the FIRST Tech Challenge World Competition robotics championship.Their team, the "Blue Screen of Death," had qualified for the competition. COVID-19 forced organizers to cancel the event, leaving the students wondering what might have been. Their team's local legacy of success was recently chronicled by the Westerly Sun. Check it out!
